Artisan Christmas market in New York in December

Markets at a glance

We check every date on the organiser's site. A market marked «expected» ran last year and hasn't announced this year's edition yet: confirm before you go or apply.

A New York holiday-market plan does not have to mean an outdoor booth. Grand Central's Holiday Fair is confirmed for November 9–December 24, 2026, inside Vanderbilt Hall. For a maker, the indoor setting changes the practical questions to ask, but it does not remove the need to check costs, access, trading hours and whether any space remains.

This guide was checked on November 2. It focuses on one confirmed December option rather than mixing unannounced fairs into a city-wide list. The official page contains both current and older information, so the distinctions below matter before you make a commitment.

Use the dated fair schedule

The official 2026 page lists the fair at 89 E 42nd Street. Its dated schedule gives Monday–Saturday 10am–7pm and Sunday 11am–6pm through December 16; December 17–23 is 10am–8pm, with Christmas Eve ending at 6pm.

The same page has a generic hours box that differs from part of that schedule. Confirm the hours for your specific date with the organizer, particularly before arranging staff or a pickup. The terminal building's opening hours are not the Holiday Fair's hours.

The official 2025 vendor information sheet records November 10–December 24 for the previous edition. It is a historical reference. Its prices, payment dates and conditions should not be presented as the offer for 2026.

A vendor-interest form is not a booth

The current page includes a 2026 vendor-interest sign-up alongside an older application note referring to 2023. Neither the old note nor the presence of a button establishes the status of a particular December space. Ask the fair team for the current application route, remaining availability and full terms.

Be clear about what you make and where it is produced. Request the current product-selection criteria instead of assuming that a prior year's requirements still apply. Keep photographs and descriptions accurate, and distinguish finished products from a range that exists only as a future idea.

Our product photography checklist can help prepare the material an organizer may request. Do not buy stock or arrange a long stay because you have joined an interest list; wait for a formal offer and a contract you understand.

Plan an indoor display that still works as a shop

Ask for the actual booth dimensions, supplied fittings, approved lighting, storage and delivery arrangements. An indoor location does not mean there is unlimited room or access at any time. Confirm who can deliver stock and when, especially if you will need help carrying equipment.

Rehearse the display at home within the allocated footprint. Make prices, materials and care information readable, and leave a working area for wrapping. Keep reserve stock organized so replenishing an item does not require dismantling the display while someone waits.

Use our market day checklist as a starting point. Add the requirements from your actual booking rather than bringing equipment simply because another fair permitted it.

Price the whole commitment

Once you receive a current quote, include more than booth rental in your comparison. Add materials, packaging, travel, payment fees, paid help and accommodation if needed. Decide how you will account for your own time and the production work you cannot do while trading.

Do not treat a large transport hub or a busy aisle as a sales forecast. Build a plan from your own prices, capacity and past market records. Record daily sales, refunds and stock movements so you can assess what happened rather than relying on an impression of the crowd.

Make gift orders straightforward

Show which items are ready to take away and which require production. Agree a realistic completion or collection date before taking a commission. Do not promise Christmas arrival solely from a dispatch date, and do not arrange a pickup after the fair has closed unless you have a separate agreed location.

A real example of a small maker's catalog is Mirasol. One accurate link lets someone revisit your work later. Keep product availability current and test any QR code on a phone before printing cards or labels.

Keep a second option in your research

If no suitable allocation is available, investigate other December events through the Mercader market finder, checking each organizer's current announcement and application terms. An indoor fair, an outdoor holiday market and a weekend craft event can involve very different commitments.

Mercader offers a 14-day trial for preparing a catalog and researching markets. These tools help organize the work; the fair team decides who can trade, and a confirmed event does not guarantee acceptance or sales.

How to get a stall

  • Grand Central Holiday Fair

The current page includes a 2026 vendor-interest sign-up but also an old 2023 application note. It does not establish remaining December availability, a current fee or acceptance. Confirm the application process and contract directly with the fair team.
