## Markets at a glance

### Grand Marché de Noël de Montréal

- Confirmed
- Dates: Nov 13, 2026 – Jan 3, 2027
- Where: Place des Festivals, Quartier des spectacles, Montréal
- Sources: [Official site](https://noelmontreal.ca/grandmarchedenoel/) · [Previous edition (Nov 21, 2025 – Jan 4, 2026)](https://noelmontreal.ca/grandmarchedenoel/programmation/)
- How to get a stall: Applications use Planexpo and committee selection. Rental periods cannot be split into individual days; a submitted request does not guarantee acceptance or an available chalet. (https://noelmontreal.ca/devenir-artisan/)

We check every date on the organiser's site. A market marked «expected» ran last year and hasn't announced this year's edition yet: confirm before you go or apply.

**Montréal's Grand Marché de Noël runs November 13, 2026–January 3, 2027**, on Place des Festivals in the Quartier des spectacles. That overall period does not mean the market opens every day throughout the season. Before December 16, scheduled closures matter when planning travel or collecting an order.

This English guide was checked on November 3 for visitors and makers travelling between Canadian regions. It distinguishes the downtown Grand Marché from the Village de Noël near Atwater Market. Both appear on the organiser's website, but their dates and rental arrangements differ. Do not assume that applying for one gives access to the other.

## Read the calendar week by week

The [official Grand Marché page](https://noelmontreal.ca/grandmarchedenoel/) announces the current season. The [2026 general conditions](https://noelmontreal.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/GMN_26-Conditions-generales-2026-FR.pdf) set out opening periods: Wednesday–Sunday before the final stretch, then daily from **December 16**. Holiday hours require a separate check.

The public page also contains weekday labels for December 24 and 25 that do not match the 2026 calendar. Use the numbered dates, and ask for confirmation if your journey depends on a particular opening hour. The written conditions provide more detail than a single broad season range.

## Last year's edition started later

The [programme explicitly labelled 2025](https://noelmontreal.ca/grandmarchedenoel/programmation/) documents the previous season as **November 21, 2025–January 4, 2026**. Those dates are included as historical evidence. They should not replace the current announcement, which starts earlier in November.

Do not copy old performances, participant names or activity times into this year's visit. If you want to find a particular maker, look for current participant information or contact that business directly. A previous appearance does not establish that the same chalet or product range will be available now.

## Applications and rental periods

The [exhibitor information page](https://noelmontreal.ca/devenir-artisan/) links to Planexpo and describes committee selection. For the Grand Marché, it lists three rental periods that can be combined but not split: **November 13–December 6, December 9–25, and December 26–January 3**. Choose around your actual staffing and production capacity.

A published rental period does not prove there is a vacancy. Ask whether your product category can still be considered and wait for written acceptance. Request the fee and included services for the period offered to you, rather than constructing a daily price from a figure found in unrelated material.

## Presenting a collection you can supply

Prepare recent photographs, materials, techniques, dimensions and prices. The [product photo checklist](/en/blog/product-photo-checklist-for-artisans) helps show finish and scale. Explain what you make yourself and distinguish ready stock from personalized items requiring further production.

The organiser describes selection interests that include authenticity and provenance. Make your production stages and collaborations clear. A realistic picture of your display helps explain what you can install; a decorative mock-up that does not fit the proposed chalet is less useful when the organisation evaluates practical requirements.

## Planning travel and deliveries

If you are coming from another region, confirm your contract before booking accommodation or sending stock. Request the delivery point, unloading window and storage rules. Visitor directions by metro are not instructions for bringing a vehicle loaded with products into the site.

Keep the operational contact and a copy of your instructions available without relying on a network connection. Plan how unsold stock will return and keep suitable packaging. A parcel arriving while the market is closed needs an agreed recipient and receiving location, rather than an assumption that somebody will be at your chalet.

## Staffing the holiday period

Arrange handovers, breaks and replenishment for the period actually assigned. The [market-day checklist](/en/blog/market-day-checklist-for-artisans) can hold quantities, reservations and prices. Everyone covering the counter should know which pieces are immediately available and which require a later order.

Check permitted equipment and electrical arrangements before adding heating or lighting. Protect packaging against moisture and test your payment setup before trading. For orders to be shipped, check the carrier's current timetable before promising arrival for a specific holiday. A customer's preferred date does not shorten production time.

## Compare expenses and stay reachable

The [craft fair break-even guide](/en/blog/is-this-craft-fair-worth-it-break-even) helps compare fees, travel, accommodation, staffing and preparation time with product margin. A central setting does not guarantee revenue for your individual business.

[Mirasol](https://mirasol.mercader.app/) is a real Mercader storefront example. Keep photos, prices, availability and contact details current, then test your QR on a phone. This also helps visitors who want to find your work after returning to another province. Mercader offers a 14-day trial. Compare other events with the [market finder](/en/herramientas/market-finder) and always confirm the terms directly with the organiser.

## Selling? Find more markets near Montréal

Mercader's market finder searches the web for markets and fairs in your area for the month you pick, with dates and the organiser's contact.
