## Markets at a glance

### Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market

- Confirmed
- Dates: Nov 5 – Dec 24, 2026
- Where: Victoria Square and New Street, Birmingham
- Sources: [Official site](https://thebfcm.co.uk/faqs/) · [Previous edition (Nov 1 – Dec 24, 2025)](https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/news/article/1662/birminghams_frankfurt_christmas_market_celebrates_25_years)
- How to get a stall: The organiser's contact page currently says there are no vacant stallholder sites and prospective applications cannot be considered. Recruitment for employment is a separate process. (https://thebfcm.co.uk/contact/)

We check every date on the organiser's site. A market marked «expected» ran last year and hasn't announced this year's edition yet: confirm before you go or apply.

**Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market runs from 5 November to 24 December 2026**, according to the dates displayed on the organiser's website. December visits therefore need to fit before Christmas Day. The important news for makers is separate: the organiser's contact page currently says there are **no vacant sites for stallholders** and it cannot consider prospective applications.

This guide was checked on 3 November 2026. It focuses on the Frankfurt market in Victoria Square and New Street, rather than treating every festive event in Birmingham as the same opportunity. A confirmed public event does not mean an open invitation to bring a craft stall.

## The current dates and the previous edition

The [organiser's FAQ page](https://thebfcm.co.uk/faqs/) displays **Thursday 5 November to Thursday 24 December 2026**. The [VisitBritain Christmas market guide](https://www.visitbritain.com/en/things-to-do/christmas-markets-britain) also lists that period for Birmingham. These are current-season dates, not the result of moving last year's opening onto a new calendar.

For comparison, [Birmingham City Council's announcement of 28 October 2025](https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/news/article/1662/birminghams_frankfurt_christmas_market_celebrates_25_years) records the previous edition from **1 November to 24 December 2025**. It places the market in Victoria Square and New Street and describes gifts, decorations and German food and drink. The different opening date is a good reason to check the year on every listing.

Do not extend the market into January because a nearby attraction continues longer. The council's historical announcement gave separate dates for the wheel and ice rink in Centenary Square. Those attractions were not evidence that the Frankfurt stalls remained open after their stated closing date.

## Check the daily details before travelling

Use the organiser's current information to confirm the hours for your intended visit, including any special arrangements. Some pages retain older material: the [traditional market page](https://thebfcm.co.uk/traditional/) has a current 2026 banner alongside text explicitly referring to 2024. We do not present that older timetable as a freshly confirmed schedule for every day in 2026.

The FAQ explains that visitors do not need an entry ticket. Check individual activities separately before paying for a booking advertised elsewhere. For a prearranged collection from a trader, agree the stall, date and meeting time directly. A general city-centre meeting point does not identify the person holding your order.

## Stallholder applications are currently unavailable

The [organiser's contact page](https://thebfcm.co.uk/contact/) explicitly states that no stallholder sites are vacant and prospective applications cannot currently be considered. This guide therefore does not recommend treating the market as an available last-minute pitch. Do not pay an intermediary for a supposed booking without checking it with the organisation.

Job advertisements are a different matter. A role serving drinks, preparing food or working at a gift stall is employment with an existing operation, not permission to sell your own collection. The council's [2025 recruitment announcement](https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/news/article/1636/recruitment_now_open_for_this_years_birminghams_frankfurt_christmas_market) illustrates that distinction; it is historical recruitment information, not a live invitation for 2026 exhibitors.

## If you are comparing another Birmingham opportunity

A separate fair or cathedral event needs its own organiser, dates and application terms. Do not transfer the Frankfurt market's public timetable or vacancy notice to another market. Ask who allocates spaces, what category of work is accepted and which document confirms the booking.

Before committing, request the full charge, included services, pitch dimensions, attendance requirements and cancellation terms. Build a short dossier with materials, making processes, prices and recent photographs. The [product photo checklist for artisans](/en/blog/product-photo-checklist-for-artisans) helps show scale and finish, so a selection panel can understand what you actually produce.

## Preparing a workable winter stall

For any confirmed booking, ask about delivery access, unloading windows, storage and electrical arrangements. Directions for shoppers are not a commercial vehicle permit. Keep a copy of the organiser's instructions and an operational contact available without relying on a signal at the venue.

Plan protection against damp weather, clear pricing and handovers between helpers. The [market-day checklist](/en/blog/market-day-checklist-for-artisans) can hold stock counts, reserved pieces and payment checks. Your replacement should know which variations are available immediately and which require a later order.

## Costs and contact after the visit

Compare space, travel, accommodation if needed, help, packaging and preparation time with your actual product margin. The [craft fair break-even guide](/en/blog/is-this-craft-fair-worth-it-break-even) supports that calculation. A famous Christmas destination does not guarantee sales for an individual maker.

[Mirasol](https://mirasol.mercader.app/) is a real Mercader storefront example. A catalogue with current photos, prices and contact details helps people find your work afterwards. Test the QR on a phone before printing it. Mercader offers a 14-day trial. Use the [market finder](/en/herramientas/market-finder) to compare other events, then verify each opportunity directly with its organiser.

## Selling? Find more markets near Birmingham

Mercader's market finder searches the web for markets and fairs in your area for the month you pick, with dates and the organiser's contact.
